My first stab at serious cartooning came in 1988 with Lifelines,
an unapologetically autobiographical strip.

MMy mother and brother appeared a few times - looking very much like themselves.
My step-father, who was the original subject of my cartooning (Adventures of Robert),
has yet to reappear in any of my strips. I'm not sure why.

In 1990 I submitted Lifelines to a King Syndication contest.

No luck.

In 1993 I ran the Napzone in my college newspaper, The Marlboro Citizen (Marlboro College, Marlboro, VT). It was a bit of a take-off on my favorite all-time comic strip, Windsor McKay's Little Nemo in Slumberland.
